CHICKPEA FLOUR TOAST RECIPE | BESAN TOAST

Chickpea Flour Toast | Veggies Toast | Healthy Breakfast or Healthy Snack Option

INGREDIENTS: (For Chickpea Flour Toast)

1 cup Chickpea Flour (Besan)
Water as required
Chopped Veggies
Green Chillies (Chopped)
Salt as per taste
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
Cumin Seeds (optional)
1 tsp Red Chiili Powder
½ tsp Coriander Powder
¼ tsp Black Salt
¼ Black Pepper Powder
Whole Wheat Bread Slices
Oil

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a mixing bowl, prepare a smooth batter of Chickpea Flour and Water. Gradually add Water as required and whisk until you get a smooth batter with a slightly runny consistency. Ensure there are no lumps in the batter.
  2. Add the chopped Veggies of your choice. I’m using chopped Onions, chopped Tomatoes, peeled and chopped Cucumbers, chopped Green Capsicum and Green Chillies to it.
  3. Now add Spices; Salt, Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Seeds (optional), Black Salt and Black Pepper Powder to it.
  4. Combine everything well.
  1. Take a Bread Slice and spread the prepared batter over it. Another method is, dip a Bread Slice into the prepared batter and coat it well with the chopped Veggies.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan or skillet on medium heat and lightly grease it with Oil or Ghee (Clarified Butter).
  3. Place the coated Bread Slice on the heated pan and cook it on medium heat until the bottom side turns golden brown and crispy.
  4. Flip the toast and cook the other side until it is also crispy and golden brown.
  5. Drizzle some oil to the pan as and when needed.
  6. Once done, remove the Chickpea Flour Toast from the pan and place them on a serving plate.
  7. Repeat the process with the remaining Bread Slices.
  8. Serve the Besan Toast or Chickpea Flour Toast hot with Ketchup, Green Chutney , or any dip of your choice.
