For 10 pieces of Kebabs.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Large Beetroot (Peeled and Grated) |
3 Large Potatoes (Boiled) |
Oil (for Shallow Frying) |
1 Onion (finely Chopped) |
1 tsp Ginger (Grated) |
1 Green Chilli (Chopped) |
½ tsp Chaat Masala |
½ tsp Cumin Powder |
½ tsp Dried Mango Powder (Amchur) |
½ tsp Coriander Powder |
Salt to Taste |
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder |
½ tsp Garam Masala |
Breadcrumbs of 2 to 3 Bread Slices |
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Prepare Vegetables
- Begin by peeling and then boiling the Beetroots until they are soft.
- Once cooled, grate the boiled Beetroots. I prefer using raw Beetroots; without boiling them. Do it as per your personal preference. Both methods work well. But make sure to grate them in any method.
- Next, grate or mash the boiled Potatoes.
2. Combine Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, combine the grated Beetroot, mashed or grated Potatoes, Breadcrumbs, chopped Onions, grated Ginger, chopped Green Chilli, Chaat Masala, Cumin Powder, Dried Mango Powder
(Amchur), Coriander Powder, Salt, Red Chilli Powder, and Garam Masala. - Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
3. Shape and Fry Kebabs
- Take a small portion of the mixture and shape into small, round or cylindrical kebabs.
- Heat some Oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat for shallow frying.
- Once the Oil is hot, place the shaped Beetroot Kebabs in the pan.
- Cook them for a few minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Once done, remove the Kebabs from the pan and place them on a serving plate.
- Serve the Beetroot Kebabs hot with your favorite dipping sauce or chutney.
