Potato Grilled Sandwich

Grilled Sandwiches have secured a permanent spot in the hearts of food enthusiasts globally. Their versatility and ability to cater to various taste preferences make them a staple in many households.

The Potato Grilled Sandwich, a fusion of Indian flavors and the classic grilled sandwich, promises a burst of tastes in every bite. Let’s embark on a culinary journey to create this mouthwatering delight.

To make the perfect Potato Grilled Sandwich, gather the following ingredients:

Masala Potato FillingSandwich Assembly
1 Potato (Boiled)Bread Slices
1 Onion (Sliced)Butter
1 Tomato (Sliced)Green Chutney
1 Capsicum (Chopped)Cheese
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Dried Mango Powder
(Amchur)
Salt to Taste
2 tsp Oil
  1. Boil and mash the Potato.
  2. Heat 2 tsp Oil in a pan and add Cumin Seeds. Allow them to splutter.
  3. Sauté sliced Onions until translucent.
  4. Add all the Spices; Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Dried Mango Powder (Amchur), and Salt.
  5. Next, add sliced Tomatoes.
  6. Cook for a minute. Add a splash of Water if needed.
  7. Mix this sautéed mixture with the mashed Potato and chopped Capsicum. Turn off the heat.
  8. Combine everything well.
  9. Our Masala Potato Filling is ready.
  1. Butter one side of each Bread Slice.
  2. Spread Green Chutney on the other side.
  3. Place a generous amount of Masala Potato Filling over the Green Chutney.
  4. Top it with some Cheese. (Use any Cheese). I’ve used Diced Cheese (a blend of Cheddar and Mozzarella) here.
  5. Cover with another Bread Slice, Butter side out.
  1. Preheat the Grill or Sandwich Maker.
  2. Place the assembled Sandwiches and grill until golden brown.
  3. Once the Sandwiches are grilled to perfection, remove them from the grill. Let them cool for a moment before slicing and serving.
  4. Cut into bite-sized pieces for a party snack.
  5. Serve hot with additional Chutney or Ketchup.

Grilling elevates the Sandwich by providing a crispy exterior and melting the Cheese, creating a burst of textures and taste.

Pair the Sandwich with a refreshing Mint Lemonade or a hot cup of Masala Chai for a complete experience.

  1. Ensure the Masala filling is well-cooked to enhance the flavors.
  2. If the Bread gets too crispy, reduce grilling time. If it is soggy, avoid overloading with filling.
  3. Experiment with additional ingredients like Grilled Paneer for a unique twist.
  4. Use a variety of colorful vegetables for an appealing presentation.

Feel free to customize the recipe based on your preferences. These Potato Grilled Sandwiches are versatile and can be a delightful meal for lunch, dinner, or even a picnic. Enjoy!
