Veggie Cheela Recipe Given Below…

Weather determines food mood, right? This is cold outside and my taste buds demanded something deep fried .. the pakoras. But I didn’t want to consume so much oil, so instead of making pakora I opted for its healthy alternative and made veggie cheelas to satisfy those pakoras cravings.

RECIPE:

INGREDIENTS
1 Shredded Potato or Juliennes
1 Shredded Carrots or Juliennes
1 Onion Sliced
2 Green Chillies
4-5 tbsp Chickpea or Gram Flour
Salt
Red Chilli Powder
Coriander Powder
Roasted Cumin Powder
Black Salt
Black Pepper Powder

METHOD:

  1. Prepare a batter of chickpea flour and water. Keep the consistency a bit runny. Add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, roasted cumin powder, black salt and black pepper powder to it. Mix it well.
  2. Add carrots, onions, potatoes, and green chillies to the batter.
  3. Heat a non stick pan and pour the batter on it. Give it a round shape and add some oil from the sides. Let it be crisp and flip the cheela to the other side.
  4. Serve it with any sauce, homemade chutneys or curd.
