Gobhi Keema Matar Recipe is a vegetarian version of Keema recipe.

Keema refers to minced and tender meat usually made with lamb or mutton, cooked in some spices and curd. The tradition of using minced meat (Keema) is very old.

Today I’m sharing a vegetarian version of a Keema recipe using Cauliflower and Peas. Quick, simple and easy recipe.

METHOD:

  1. Chop the cauliflower florets in a food processor or chopper.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let the cumin seeds splutter.
  3. Now add all the spices and mix well.
  4. Cook it for 30 seconds and add peas to it. Mix peas in spices and add ½ cup water. Cook it for 10-12 mins or until the peas get softened. Do it by coveting the pan with a lid.
  5. After peas get softened, add cauliflower also. Mix it well and cook it for 15-20 more minutes.
  6. Keep stirring in between and check if it is properly cooked or not.
  7. For Gobhi Keema Matar masala, add tomato puree, chopped onions and tomatoes too to this recipe.

Note:

Garam Masala is a powdered mixture of whole spices i.e. Bay Leaf, Black Cardamom (Moti Elaichi), Cinnamon, Green Cardamom, Cloves. Whole spices can also be used at the places of powdered Garam Masala.
